Richard Jay started as a small family business with a close-knit, connected team, and although the company has grown over more than 50 years, with a national footprint, our commitment to family is as strong as ever.

Many of people in our Team have brought their relatives into the business because they believe in the genuine value we bring to the market – one of the things that drives a huge amount of pride within the business.
Here are some of our team members’ stories.
Joe and Kevin– Father and son
Joe South joined Richard Jay in 2001 and was our National Field Sales Manager. Joe retired this year after 21 years of service, but not before he introduced us to our current South Australian Sales Executive, Kevin South. Kevin joined us in November 2019, and currently manages our sales in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Saia and Kayleen – Father and daughter
Siosaia “Saia” Tuipulotu helps operate the Queensland warehouse, unloading containers, handling truck deliveries and ensuring pre-delivery excellence in partnership with our National Operations Manager. Saia’s daughter, Kayleen Kaufusi, also works with us as a Service Coordinator, looking after all service and repair jobs for our customers in Victoria.
Andrew and Rona – Husband and wife
Andrew Chin manages the ASD warehouse and works in our parts department where he handles the picking / packing spare part orders. Andrew’s wife, Rona Chin, is our Customer Service Supervisor, a role that sees her working on Preventative Maintenance Agreements and fielding picking up service calls from the call centre.
Mack and Belinda – Daughter and mother-in-law
Mackenzie “Mack” Padgham is our Senior Service Coordinator in our After Sales Department Having worked with us since April 2018, Mack has a wealth of knowledge in customer service and expectation management. Her mother-in-law, Belinda Houston, is also a Service Coordinator since joining us earlier this year.
Kylie and Michelle – Sisters
As our Customer Service Manager, Kylie Best ensures our service team is well looked after and our customers are delighted with the care they receive post-sale. Kylie’s sister, Michelle Nunn works in our Internal Sales department, pre-evaluating every enquiry before sending it to our field sales team. Michelle regularly achieves our highest direct sales numbers across the business.
Ian and Chelsea – Father and daughter
Ian Elliott has been the General Manager of our chemical business JayChem since June 2021, and his daughter, Chelsea, joined us a few months later. While Chelsea loves the team environment in the office, she also enjoys the freedom of her hybrid work schedule that allows her to work from home three days a week.
