As we celebrate 50 years in business, we reflect on how far we’ve come and how fortunate we are to have so many supportive clients and a fabulous team.
All of us at Richard Jay would like to wish you a happy New Year and a prosperous 2019. What a milestone year for our business! We’re kicking off 12 months of 50 year anniversary celebrations this month.
In 1969, our founder Richard Jay launched a single laundromat in Adelaide. He had no way of knowing that the business would still be going strong five decades on – with his three daughters working in the business.
We have grown and evolved so much since that first laundromat build, but some things will never change about Richard Jay. We remain committed to what we stand for and who we are: knowledgeable, reliable, energetic, safe and truthful. For as long as we’re in business, these five values will continue to guide us and our core belief will continue to drive us – the belief that every Australian deserves fresh sheets, clean clothes and sparkling dishes.

The past half-century has seen us consistently deliver advanced commercial laundry solutions across the aged care, healthcare, education, hospitality, commercial laundry, Government and mining sectors. As we look back on the decades, it’s clear that it’s the people who make the journey memorable. The people in our business and the people we do business with.
While this is a time for reflection, looking to the future is the secret to our longevity. Fifty years on, we’re STILL looking for new ways to serve our clients better. We won’t ever stop. Just last year, we added warewashing, chemicals and a revolutionary subscription solution, JayWay, to the Richard Jay offering. We’re committed to embracing change and enhancing our clients’ businesses in any way we can.
